We all know the date: December 21, 2012 – the advent of the Winter Solstice – also the Maya calendar date foretelling the “End of the World” (or at least the world as we know it.)
One date that stood out was the day the world was created according to the Maya, Aug. 11, 3114 B.C. The actions leading up to the creation of the world involved the exploits of many gods and goddesses and took place over a long period, 13 baktuns (a baktun is equal to approximately 400 years, so 13 baktuns is roughly 5200 years). On this last day of creation, the Maize Lord, one of the principal Maya gods, reached his hand up into the sky and turned the heavens, which started time. After this act, “real time” started, and this is what is recorded as the first day in the Maya calendar.
Because mythological time ended at the end of the 13th baktun, scholars and writers in the 1960s and ’70s, who were keenly interested in the Maya,
assumed that the “real time” calendar would also end at the end of 13 baktuns,
on Dec. 21, 2012.
I know this may sound a bit strange, but I’m actually somewhat excited to be living in this time in human recorded history. We are on the precipice of an event that enters more like a whisper – less like a cataclysm – my psychic senses tell me.
The whole notion of an “apocalypse” befalling us on that very day is a little extreme.
A shade defeatist.
A tad, well.. insane.
There are sites popping up all over the internet with every angle you can fathom on the topic of 2012. Merchandising is crazy out there … I mean, who doesn’t want a custom t-shirt or hoodie emblazoned with the caption, “I survived the Apocalypse!”
…Or maybe a countdown clock for their website or desktop – keeping watch on exactly how many minutes we have until utter oblivion?

And for those who require a time zone conversion chart to show what time it will be in other parts of the world at exactly 11:11 Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) …
well, look no further:
There are, in fact, uncovered ancient writings upon a sacred temple indicating the Maya predict events far into the future, well beyond the Maya Long Count Calendar 2012.
“…at the nearby site of Palenque, on the West Panel in the Temple of the Inscriptions, the Maya recorded the date of Oct. 23, 4772 in the future to contextualize the accession of the great king, K’inich Janaab’ Pakal (Sun-Eyed Flower Shield) on July 26, 615.
And at the magnificent city of Tikal, located in the heart of Guatemalan rain forest, the Maya carved the date of Jan. 29, 5,039,131 on a stone monument commissioned in the 6th century by the king, Kalomte’ Bahlam (Emperor Jaguar).
So while the Maya certainly envisioned the 13th baktun ending, just as we anticipate that the third millennium will end on Dec. 31, 2999, they in no way thought their world would end.”
As a world society, we crave stories depicting the apocalypse, impending doom. Just look to any news on any major network or cable channel – you can’t go 5 minutes without hearing about an earthquake, tsunami warning, volcanic eruption, other natural disasters. There’s the mass shootings, bombings, wildfires, kidnappings, murders, all sorts of violent crime. It almost appears to escalate on the horror scale with each reporting and accompanying live video, uploaded in virtual ‘real-time’ to the network’s site.

We’ve gotten so bored with our own lives, living in a self-entombed vacuum each & every day, that we must create alternatives to satisfy our endless need for that next colossal, life-changing event.
We are no longer at peace with the idea of Pleasantville.
It must be the thrill-ride to end all thrill-rides, or we don’t feel it. We have numbed ourselves into an ‘anesthetic coma’ of sorts. The need for escape from our world as we know it is great. We need to be awakened – jarred into a sense of awareness beyond ourselves. To break outside the ‘borders’ we have erected, keeping us from looking deep within at our own individual progressions.
This ‘theater’ where it all plays out – for whatever the final outcome –
we happen to call Earth.
I am ultimately hopeful that most of us will adapt effortlessly to the new world perception. And that is what it will be – a perception. Everything will be the same, look the same … (Well, no .. not exactly.)
You probably won’t even be able to put your finger on what it is, but you will KNOW that the universe – and your relationship to it – will have undeniably altered to integrate the ‘new order.’
Those who refuse to allow this ‘assimilation’ to take place will attract a negative component within their lives – most likely in the form of disease, illness, an earth-bound sluggish quality where their physical bodies, their minds, their spirits will feel as if they are being ‘dragged’ by this plane. Not allowing the higher vibrational rate to infuse, balance, and correct to the new ‘alignment’ will enhance this breakdown of energy field.
This next phase, I believe, is the 4th Dimension.
So my advice to those who may be concerned they are not fit to the task of ascension into this next dimension …
